Donate Stock

Why donate stock instead of cash?
Generally, if stocks have been held for more than a year, you can donate them and get a double benefit.  The Foundation gets the full market value of the stock, and it eliminates your capital gains tax. (Be sure to talk to your tax professional for official advice).

Why do I need to talk to West Central Initiative?
Great question!  The Osakis Silverstreaks Foundation is a component fund of the West Central Initiative, which means they take care of all the accounting and 501c3 documents. This helps keep our expenses low and it means more money goes to fund opportunities for students!
